On Thursday, 19, 2024, DIA students attended the long awaited Student Convention held at Kinasih Resort and Conference, Bogor. The convention started with athletics at GOR Rawamangun, which was followed with the trip to Bogor for the rest of the convention where participants performed, competed in academics, exhibitions and sports for six days.
Students and teachers have been preparing months prior for this event to compete with other schools from the whole country of Indonesia and to socialize with each other, getting to know others slowly while participating in the convention. Rezel Matthew Lusman (Level 10), an Upper student, said that the preparation was enjoyable and that he got to learn new skills.
The evening rally is also something they did every night, which was filled with sermons, praise and worship, announcements, rewards, or Command Performances. Shiloh Charity (Level 5), an Elementary student, said that evening rallies were very fun, though she would have liked less praise and worship and more Command Performances.
The Student Convention this year was not the best, where teachers would have to volunteer themselves suddenly or everyone went through massive changes of schedule. Rezel (Level 10) hopes that whoever will be in charge of next year’s Student Convention could do better and that they can have better communications with each other.
